As the founding designer and early team member, I helped shape NYCBUD’s product and strategy, led design direction across the company, and worked closely with engineering.
Throughout my time with NYCBUD, I was not only the product (website) designer, I was also the art director, graphic designer, and social media manager for the new legal cannabis dispensary located at 44-45 Vernon Ave, Long Island City, Queens, New York.
I perfected their logo design, created graphics and in-store imagery (both digital and print) according to the theme of the New York City Subway System. I took inspiration from the original 1970’s subway design by Massimo Vignelli and used AI to help me create some initial ideas.
I designed the website from scratch and led a team of developers to create the final website, over the course of 8 months. From there I took images of New York City and overlaid them with the colors I chose for the brand guidelines. I set the style and tone for the brand, creating a look and feel that could guide all future designers for the brand. From there, I created in-store signage (both print and digital), designed lots of merchandise, and took control of NYCBUD’s Instagram presence.
I helped to grow their followers from 1,000 to 5,000 in the span of 8 months by creating engaging graphics, posting regularly, engaging with content, responding to Direct Messages, and collaborating with the videographer to direct video content.
In-Store Signage
The NYCBUD guys were inspired by the NYC Subway and wanted to replicate the in-store signage to be just like the originals.
Content Creation
Here is a collection of content I created for NYCBUD’s Instagram.
