Skidmore Health Center Mural

I was asked to create a mural that inspires joy and good cheer in the hallway of the health services department in Jonsson Tower at Skidmore College. The mural was inspired by Peter Max, whose work bears similarities to The Beatles’  “Yellow Submarine” illustrations. I was thrilled with the directive because I loved The Beatles’ film as a child and watched it regularly. The mural is a colorful display of my interests, integrating elements related to my Psychology Major and Studio Art Minor, having written my senior thesis on the effect of color on human emotions. The painting features an underwater theme with jellyfish, various landscapes, a sunburst, planets, eyes, and more, all in brilliant colors.
